The agreement.

1. The App

Got Stripes is a study aid for the New Jersey Sergeant Promotional Examination. It paraphrases public statutes and policy guidelines for personal study. It is not legal advice, is not a substitute for the official statutory text or your agency's training, and has not been reviewed or endorsed by any lawmaker, prosecutor's office, the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General, the Police Training Commission, or any law enforcement agency.

You acknowledge that:

• The content may be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date.
• You will verify any rule, statute, case holding, or guideline against the official source before relying on it for an exam answer, an arrest decision, a report, or testimony.
• Nothing in the app should be cited in court filings or used to justify enforcement action.

2. License

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on Apple devices that you own or control, for your personal, non-commercial study use. You agree not to:

• Copy, modify, or distribute the app or its content except as allowed by Apple's standard EULA;
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the app;
• Use the app or its content to create a competing product;
• Use the app in any way that violates applicable law.

3. Subscriptions

Got Stripes offers auto-renewing subscriptions:

• Got Stripes Pro Monthly — $4.99 per month, automatically renewing every month. Starts with a 7-day free trial.
• Got Stripes Pro Annual — $39.99 per year, automatically renewing every year. Starts with a 7-day free trial.

Got Stripes also offers a non-renewing one-time purchase:

• Got Stripes Pro Lifetime — $79.99 once, granting access to all premium features for the life of the app on your Apple ID. If you purchased Lifetime at an earlier listed price, your access is unaffected by any later price change.

Subscription billing is handled by Apple and charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. You can manage and cancel your subscription at any time by going to Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on your device. No refund is offered for the unused portion of a current subscription period unless required by applicable law.

Prices are in U.S. Dollars and may vary by country. Prices may change in the future; any change applies only to renewals or new purchases after the change.

4. Purchase recovery

If you have a previous purchase associated with your Apple ID, use Restore Purchases in the app's Settings to recover it. We do not store or otherwise have access to your Apple ID payment information.

5. No medical, legal, or professional advice

Got Stripes is study material. It is not legal advice, professional certification, or a substitute for any official training program. You are solely responsible for your study, your exam performance, and any decisions you make on or off duty.

6. Your data and privacy

Your use of the app is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

THE APP AND ITS CONTENT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ANY WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE FROM HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

8. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL WE BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE APP OR YOUR USE OF IT, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the app at any time, with or without cause. You may stop using the app at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive (including disclaimers, limitation of liability, and dispute resolution).

10. Apple's standard EULA

If you obtained the app through the Apple App Store, Apple's standard end-user license agreement also applies (read here). In any conflict, Apple's standard EULA takes precedence over these Terms only to the extent required by Apple's policies.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in New Jersey.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Effective date" at the top, and substantive changes will be announced in the app's release notes. Your continued use after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
